Director of Property and Finance

Brighton and Hove City Council
Circa £120,000
Hackney

Brighton & Hove is an iconic, diverse coastal city and a place that our residents, workforce, businesses and visitors feel passionately about.  We have rich cultural assets but also complex social challenges and stark inequalities.  This is a time of change with a new political administration, new chief executive and new approach to supporting our communities as a learning organisation.

THE ROLE

This is a key post on the corporate leadership team, reporting to the chief executive, with statutory responsibility as the council’s S151 officer.  As our new Director you will of course bring exceptional financial management skills.  Just as important to our city is a track record of using commercial property assets to benefit our residents and unlock the challenges we face.  Our asset portfolio is a critical element of our MTFS and we are looking for commercial astuteness alongside a deep commitment to ensuring residents are at the heart of every financial decision we make.
