THE ROLE
You Will:
- Take the lead on delivering a Communications and Engagement strategy in support of the Delivery Plan, which is the vehicle for delivering the programmes of change set out in the Council’s Corporate Plan 2022-2026.
- Manage and deliver communications support and engagement activities within the borough, working in close collaboration with residents in places and at times that suit the community.
- Work with programme teams to ensure good consultation and engagement is undertaken with staff, residents, businesses and other stakeholders to harness their ideas and lived experience.
- Use data insight and intelligence from a range of sources to identify target audiences and their existing attitudes.
You Will Have:
- Excellent all round communication skills, be politically astute, and a compelling writer.
- Demonstrable experience of developing, delivering and evaluating communications and engagement strategies and initiatives, particularly in the context of a large complex programme of change.
- Ability to work at pace, maintaining quality, often working across a number of projects at any one time.
- Commitment to reducing inequalities and an understanding of how this applies to community engagement.
This role reports into the Head of Communications. It is a hybrid role, primarily home-based with some travel to the borough and requires an immediate start.
