Starfish Search is supporting a Local Authority based in the North to recruit an Interim Head of Procurement for 6 months.
THE ROLE
As the leader of the Procurement Department, you will serve as the prominent and reliable advocate for the Council’s procurement function. Your role involves offering expert guidance to officers engaged in procurement across the entire Council, actively working to enhance the Council’s procurement culture and practices.
You will adeptly provide strategic direction, leadership, planning, and operational oversight for the corporate procurement service. The ideal candidate should possess a background of working at a senior level, demonstrating leadership in a procurement role within a Local Authority. Additionally, they should have proven experience in leading change, driving transformation, and contributing to broader service improvement initiatives.
The role requires an onsite presence of 1 day per week.
