Starfish Search are working with a Local Authority in London to recruit an Interim Director of Housing Standards, Assets & Investment. This is a pivotal role, driving the Council’s strategy on housing assets, building safety, and service transformation within housing services.
As the strategic advisor, you will lead efforts to maximize the utility of the Council’s housing assets through effective asset management, including procurement of works and exploring opportunities for rationalization, disposal, and reconfiguration. Your role will involve ensuring that service delivery standards meet the highest expectations, with a focus on innovation, excellence, continuous improvement, and environmental sustainability.
You will collaborate with the Housing Leadership Team and key stakeholders to drive improvement programs and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, particularly in the areas of building safety and compliance. This is a high-impact role requiring strong leadership, technical housing knowledge, and experience in delivering asset strategies.
THE ROLE
You will:
- Provide strategic advice on all aspects of housing asset management, procurement, and investment opportunities.
- Lead the delivery of service transformation and improvement projects that align with the Council’s objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory housing standards, particularly in building safety.
- Collaborate with the Housing Leadership Team to deliver the Council’s housing service priorities and improvement programs.
You will have:
