Starfish Search are working with a local authority in London to recruit an Interim Director of Finance (Deputy S151). This role will play a key part in ensuring robust financial governance, delivering high-quality financial advice, and driving the Council’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate priorities.
THE ROLE
You will:
- Provide strategic leadership of the Finance function, ensuring the team provide both operational and strategic services that deliver high quality professional advice.
- Act as Council’s deputy S151 officer and ensures that the Finance function operates effectively and to the highest possible professional standards.
- Be responsible for the strategic and general management of the Finance function in line with priorities laid out in the Medium Term Financial Strategy, Borough Plan and departmental service plans.
You will have:
- Extensive experience providing strategic policy direction, leadership and operational management within a local authority context.
- A proven track record of working in collaboration with colleagues across agencies, the council, and partners to develop joined up solutions.
- A proven track record of developing strategic financial plans and managing accounts in large complex organisations.
