Starfish Search are working with the British Heart Foundation to recruit an Interim Director of Customer Marketing and Retention. At the BHF our people are at the heart of everything we do. THE ROLE

Reporting into the Chief Marketing and Fundraising Officer, you will lead and develop your teams to harness market, campaign and customer insight and deliver their customer marketing strategy to achieve significant income targets. Your team is responsible for Retention and Customer Journeys, Customer Insight and Analysis, Marketing Strategy and Planning, and Fundraising Compliance.

You Will:

  • Lead, develop and deliver the marketing strategy and execution to deliver fundraising income, targeting their existing customer base
  • Deliver and grow their mass fundraising income through upsell, cross-sell and improved retention
  • Use your expert understanding of leveraging 1st and 3rd party data and customer segmentation to improve the quality of their customer journeys

You Will Have:

  • Senior leadership experience in a complex organisation, operating and influencing at board level and leading large teams
  • Extensive senior-level commercial or fundraising experience of developing customer marketing strategy, marcomms execution and leading successful marcomms campaigns to deliver financial targets
  • Accountability for directly delivering multi-million-pound income targets and maximising ROI (and marcomms metrics regarding response rates, conversion rates) across a portfolio of income-generating individual giving, legacy CRM, and patient health marcomms
  • Experience of delivering transformation in marketing outcomes and income impact
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, running until October 2025, you must be able to start by Monday November 4th. This is a hybrid role, with at least 2 days/week in their London office. The salary for this role is £88,000 – £90,000.
