Salary: Up to £134,000 based on experience

With a workforce of over 500, we deliver a huge range of vital services on behalf of Oxford City Council, but we also manage numerous commercial contracts across the region with businesses, landlords, charities, hospitals and education establishments. Our services include waste and recycling, parks and open spaces, housing repairs, highways maintenance, pest control and MOT testing – and more besides! We have to be efficient, commercial and high quality, but we also have a strong belief in social value. Our profits go back into the public sector – creating a virtuous circle and strengthening the communities we work in.
THE ROLE
We are currently seeking an exceptional Executive Director for Finance to join the board and support our ambitious growth agenda. Indeed, we are seeking to grow the revenues of our trading arm from £13m to £40m over the next few years – and we therefore need a new FD with the right values who is also highly commercial, can deal with complexity, offer a strategic oversight and yet also know when to dig into the detail and sort out issues.
Many of our clients are public sector bodies, and we are wholly owned by Oxford City Council – so an understanding of the dynamics of a public-private sector working relationship would be extremely useful.
