We also have a Council to be proud of with a high-performing children’s services, a strong economy, and productive partnerships; indeed, a recent peer review described us as “an impressive and ambitious council with an established track record of providing high quality services, strong financial management and robust governance.”
However, there are further opportunities ahead of us, including our commitment to tackling climate change, enhancing the customer experience, extending life chances, and enabling an inclusive economy – all of which need innovative and empowering approaches to achieve our ambition. We will soon be developing our next Corporate Plan and an exceptional Chief Executive with the necessary drive and leadership skills will be key to our success.
