The role of S151 for Birmingham City Council is rightly recognised as one of the most challenging jobs in local government. It requires an extraordinary finance professional with an unwavering commitment to restoring financial control and confidence to the largest council in England. The task ahead is clear: to balance our budget, achieve a realistic MTFP and return the council to financial stability.
This will require a vice-like grip on the basics whilst leading complex commercial negotiations and building trust and confidence with government.
