Starfish Search are working with a high-profile professional membership body to recruit an Interim Senior Regional Policy Manager. The focus of this role is to shape and deliver the regional engagement strategy for Manchester and the West Midlands, leading strategic relationships and identifying and pursuing funding opportunities. This is a highly influential role at the intersection of public policy, employer engagement, and skills delivery.

THE ROLE

You Will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a regional strategy to embed management and leadership as a priority within devolved and regional skills policies
  • Actively raise their profile and reputation across the regions
  • Build strategic relationships with combined authorities, metro mayors, employer bodies, and skills planners
  • Identify and track regional and devolved funding opportunities
  • Collaborate across Policy, Partnerships, Awarding Body, Product and Marketing teams to ensure regional work is aligned with national strategy and campaigns

 

You Will Have:

  • Understanding of the UK skills system and regional policy landscape, including LSIPs, AEB, and the role of combined authorities.
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing policy at a regional or national level, particularly in relation to leadership and management development
  • Strong understanding of public funding streams
  • A track record of identifying and securing funding partnerships, bids, or collaborations
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and advocacy skills

 

This role is running as a fixed-term contract for one year with the possibility of becoming permanent. It is a home-based role with travel required throughout the West Midlands and Greater Manchester area, offering a salary of up to £75,000 plus benefits.
