Manchester is a city with a rich history and a dynamic future, renowned for culture, sporting success and its deep diversity. We are known for being forward-thinking, inclusive and we are working together to improve the lives of everyone in the city.
Housing is a high on our agenda and now is a great time to join us. We are spending £47m on upgrading our social housing stock with plans to improve 2,000 homes. We have also got ambitious plans to deliver 36,000 new homes by 2032.
Our new Head of Housing Design & Delivery will play an important role in the delivery of our housing strategy, becoming a key member of the capital programmes leadership team, reporting to the Director of Capital Programmes and Head of Minor Works. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team in the coordination and delivery of a variety of construction projects such as retro fits, general works, re-cladding, new kitchens and re-wiring, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
Applicants will need to have a background in housing construction projects and hold a higher level qualification in a relevant construction or business management discipline. We’re looking for someone who demonstrates a resident-centric leadership style, inspiring the same mentality within your team.
We are creating an inclusive team at Manchester City Council; we are striving to create a fair and inclusive workplace that is as diverse as the communities we serve.
