Starfish Search are supporting a London Borough to appoint an Interim Executive Director of Environment & Economy.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the new Environment, Climate & Economy Directorate following an organisational restructure.
- Oversee Regeneration, Economic Development, Environmental Services, Planning, Building Control and Streetscene.
- Drive major regeneration and capital growth projects, supporting local economic development and Mayoral priorities.
- Lead the Council’s climate change and sustainability programmes, including net zero and green space initiatives.
- Maintain effective frontline and regulatory services, including Business Regulation, Enforcement, Parking and Community Safety.
About you
- Senior local authority leadership experience across complex, multi-service directorates.
- Proven track record of delivering regeneration, economic development or service transformation.
- Strong understanding of environmental services, planning or regulatory functions.
- Experience leading organisational change and maintaining frontline service delivery.
- Ability to work effectively with elected Members, senior stakeholders and partners.
