Director of Services

Crisis
London
£95,000
Hackney

Homelessness is dangerous and isolating and we believe that everybody should have a place to live. Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness and through our services, we support people out of homelessness for good, pioneering research into the causes and consequences of homelessness and campaigning for the changes needed to end it for everyone.

The Role

We are now looking for an inspirational and experienced Director of Services to lead the largest part of our organisation in delivering highly effective and evidence-based services. Our services are at the heart of our strategy to end homelessness and we work in collaboration with organisations committed to the same purpose. With a current budget of more than £20m we offer services nationwide, including the Crisis at Christmas service, Critical Time Intervention and Housing First projects, and 11 local Skylight teams who work alongside more than 9000 people experiencing homelessness, to support them in ending their homelessness sustainably.

Working closely with our members, local authority and sector partners, you will be an innovative thinker, agile and creative, with the ability to design and deliver co-produced, person-centred services which are sustainable and safe. You will understand and respond to the challenge of providing services that are about fully ending, not managing homelessness. Furthermore, you will bring the intellectual breadth to contribute towards the overall strategic direction of Crisis and you will understand the central importance of lived experience of homelessness, but also seek to harness the contribution of volunteers and partners, and maximise the potential of data, digital and technology.

You do not need to come from within the charity sector, but if you share the values and are committed to helping end homelessness then we very much look forward to hearing from you.
