Starfish is working with a London authority in London to recruit a Finance Business Partner at Assistant Director level.
This role sits within IR35.
THE ROLE
This is a new role, created on an interim basis pending a wider restructure. This role is needed to strengthen the Business Partnering team. We are looking for individual who can bring this team together and drive forward continuous improvements.
About the role
- You will bring evidence of supporting effective culture and process changes. You will drive change and bring energy to make a difference
- Spend less time on transactional work and more time on adding value partnering with the wider business. As well as recognising the part that business partnering plays in the closing of the statement of accounts
- This post holder would work closely with the Head of Corporate Finance
- There is a team of 27 individuals with five direct reports covering, Children’s, Schools, Adult Social Care, Resources/CEX, Place
Responsibilities:
- Producing the Council wide budget quarterly budget monitoring report cycles for revenue
- Briefing the Cabinet Member for Finance
- Developing risk-based approach to ensure financial resilience
- Supporting specific council wide projects as required
- Bringing ideas to increase income and reduce costs as part of budget setting
- Driving value for money
- Reaching out to Procurement and HR business partners to work together to support the wider council priorities
