The Role

We are future focused as an organisation and having recently launched our new strategy, this is an exciting and pivotal time to join our Executive Leadership team. As our Executive Director of Operations, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining operational excellence to deliver our strategy and develop services that meet the highest standards. 

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative leader who can work effectively with both volunteer and paid colleagues and who brings experience gained at a senior level in a large and complex organisation. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving further operational effectiveness and service expansion and will bring a relentless focus on ensuring excellence in all our service delivery.  Experienced at implementing change, your transparent and open style will ensure you are able to build confidence and trust with a wide range of people. 

To genuinely address the causes of suicide and self-harm, we must take more practical action to challenge discrimination and injustice, working hand in hand with people affected by both. We want Samaritans to be a welcoming place for our volunteers staff, and of course those people using our services and we want Samaritans to be  as diverse as the communities we live and work in.
