London Sport is a charity working to ensure more Londoners live longer, healthier and happier lives through being active. Supported by Sport England and the Mayor of London, we collaborate with those who share our vision, running and supporting projects that help children, young people and the least active adults embed sport and physical activity into their lives.
Our vision is to change the lives of children and young people. By working with them and London’s civil society groups, we will use sport and physical activity to reduce barriers and inequalities, create safe spaces, provide more access to trusted adults, and increase opportunities so young Londoners can meet their aspirations and potential.
Like the rest of the country, Londoners and civil society groups have been impacted by a decade of challenges, austerity cuts, the covid pandemic and now the cost-of-living crisis. And as with all crises, it is the sector that picks up the pieces and supports people through to recovery. This is why the Mayor and I will continue to work tirelessly to bring people and organisations together across London, to listen, learn and champion their voices and value.
Together with London Sport and partners we are committed to sustaining the sport and physical activity sector to provide the best offer for Londoners but particularly children and young through these challenging times.
Starfish Search and the Mayor are now working together to recruit a Board Trustee of London Sport.
The successful candidate will share our ambitions for community sport in our great city. They’ll have an exceptional commitment to children and young people, and a knowledge and understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the civil society sector. They will also combine the ability to work collaboratively and think strategically and imaginatively to successfully advocate for London Sport’s work.
