Interim Children and Young People’s Commissioning Lead

Starfish Search are working with a local authority in the Midlands to recruit an Interim Children and Young People’s Commissioning Lead. The focus of this role is to strategically lead, develop and deliver objectives outlined in the Children’s Improvement Plan.
THE ROLE
You Will:
- Develop strategic commissioning for children’s social care, with a key focus on SEND and education commissioning projects
- Lead and update the Council’s Sufficiency Strategy
- Find opportunities for integration and joint commissioning with health colleagues
- Be at the forefront of change management and service improvements
- Act as a key member of the Corporate Parenting Board
You Will Have:
- A proven track record of Children’s social care processes
- Previous knowledge of Children’s commissioning including, Home Finding, placements, IFAs, residential, SEND and Education commissioning
- Experience of Managing staff
- Knowledge of contract management and performance
- Led and developed sufficiency strategies and managing the market in relation to CYP
This is a hybrid role, initially running for a period of 6 months. The day-rate is negotiable.
