Interim Assistant Director – Resident Housing Services

Starfish Search are working with a local authority in the South of England to recruit an Interim Assistant Director of Resident Housing Services. The focus of this role is to provide strategic direction and leadership for housing management, property services, tenant and leaseholder participation & engagement and home ownership.
THE ROLE
You Will:
- Provide leadership to corporate projects delivered by the Housing & Community Services Directorate
- Provide Strategic Management of Housing Works, Repairs and Maintenance Programme including Disrepair Claims
- Work collaboratively with Members and other senior colleagues to support, challenge, and contribute to the Council’s community leadership role, ensuring the delivery of the Corporate Plan
- Lead the delivery and build an effective partnership relationship with external suppliers/ contractors
You Will Have:
- Experience of leading resident housing services within a local authority
- Extensive knowledge and experience of social housing operations, asset, and facilities management in both housing and non-housing environments in a local authority context.
- An understanding of any legislative requirements pertaining to housing and resident services
- A track record of providing strategic direction and leadership as a senior member of a council or similar organisation
This role is running for a period of six months. It is a hybrid role with 2 days/week required on site and is offered as either a full-time role or 4 days/week.
