Wiltshire is a large unitary authority with a strong military presence, home to health and life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and digital
industries as well as some of the most ancient monuments in the UK with World Heritage Sites at Stonehenge and Avebury. As a
council, they have ambitions to deliver growth and employment opportunities in partnership with our businesses and investors.

THE ROLE

As the new Director of Economy, you will lead on the development of Wiltshire’s strategies for economic growth, regeneration, business support and employment, skills development and tourism. You will build on their strong relationships with key partners ranging from the military and public sector agencies to landowners and education establishments, and of course, regional bodies and national government.

You will bring a successful track record of leading economic strategies, regeneration, attracting funding and delivering skills programmes at executive level, and will thrive on turning political aspirations into tangible outcomes within a large geographical footprint. Above all, your collaborative style will enable Wiltshire to bring together industry, government and communities to ensure the success of its economy.
