THE ROLE

The London Borough of Merton puts people at the very centre of its adult social care service.  We strive to ensure our most vulnerable adults are safe, happy and fulfilled, and are as independent as possible, so they are able to live their lives in the way that they want. We focus on reablement to help reduce the need for long-term care, supporting people to regain autonomy and self-determination, where we can; as well as early intervention to stop needs escalating and help people recover.

We are seeking an exceptional individual for the role of Director of Integrated Care, Commissioning and CQC Assurance to live these values and ambitions – and make sure we have the very best services in place for the borough’s most vulnerable adults.  You will lead the commissioning of high-quality services, in a way that represents the very best value; you will be relentless in your drive to tackle health inequalities; and you will craft and lead transformation and change.

At Merton, we focus on working together and with partners to develop and commission services that meet people’s needs now and in the future. You will thrive on innovation and collaboration – and relish working across the health and voluntary ecosystem to make sure this happens. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Adult Social Care, Integrated Care & Public Health, this role is both strategic and operational.

Merton’s professional practice is founded on a bedrock of compassionate, relationship-based, and inclusive leadership, and you will help set the direction for the whole directorate, creating the right culture and environment for the workforce to flourish and ensuring departmental plans are delivered.
