The Role

As the governing body of the Square Mile, we are dedicated to a vibrant and thriving City, supporting a diverse and sustainable London within a globally successful UK. The City of London’s influence and reach stretches across the capital, the country and the world and is recognised as a catalyst for global economic growth.

We are also a local authority, committed to providing outstanding local government services to our residents, businesses and visitors. The proud custodian of the city’s history and culture, we are responsible for a diverse portfolio of assets from markets and museums to bridges, parks and exceptional city buildings.

As Executive Director for Community and Children, you will oversee the services that we provide to our residents spanning housing, children’s and adult social care, libraries and education.

In joining the team led by our new Town Clerk and Chief Executive, you will work collaboratively with politicians and partners to help us realise our huge potential as a Destination City and ensure our cultural assets are enjoyed by residents across London. We want to provide opportunities for children and families to learn, connect and be inspired by our heritage, museums, parks, libraries and everything in between.

Your visible, passionate leadership will ensure a positive, inclusive culture which embraces transformation and change and opens up the square mile to communities across the Capital.
