Chief Financial Officer

WRAP
£110,000 per annum
Hackney

Founded in 2000, WRAP is a global NGO that collaborates with governments, businesses and individuals on an international scale to create a planet with a sustainable future through the systematic changes of production, consumption and everything beyond. We currently live in a global community where 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted; where 141 million tonnes of plastic packaging is produced annually; and where 2.1 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases were emitted by the global fashion industry in 2018.

THE ROLE

WRAP is one of the world’s leading sustainability NGOs, working around the globe to tackle the causes of the climate crisis and give the planet a sustainable future, supporting a vision of a thriving world in which climate change is no longer a problem. We aim to achieve this by creating a circular economy through waste reduction, developing new more sustainable business models, and strengthening the focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the clothing, packaging, and food industries.

As we expand our reach and impact globally, we are looking for a new Chief Financial Officer, ideally with experience in a global charity setting, to join our dynamic leadership team. This is an important stage of growth for us, and we are an ambitious and optimistic organisation recognising the need to work at pace. You will be a key contributor to the leadership and strategic direction of WRAP’s international and commercial operations. You will maintain and develop high-level strategic relationships with our stakeholders inclusive of Government bodies and corporations. As part of the senior leadership team, you will also act as secretariat to the Board of Trustees and take governance of our Audit and Risk Committee.

You will be a qualified accountant, with strong financial management and commercial leadership skills, and a track record of developing and implementing high impact strategies, ideally on an international scale. You will bring a strong understanding of influencing commercial negotiations, with experience of business transformation. We are looking for someone who can bring credibility as a charity leader and role model, who can embody WRAP’s values and develop our diverse and inclusive teams.
