Director of Adult Social Care

Wiltshire Council
Up to £127,000
Hackney

Wiltshire is one of the largest unitary authorities in the country.  As a predominantly rural county with a rich heritage, diverse towns, and vibrant local communities, Wiltshire offers the best of both worlds – a high quality of life in a beautiful natural setting, combined with the professional challenge of leading services that truly make a difference.

We are committed to delivering better outcomes for residents, especially those who rely on our support the most. Our aim is to create strong, well-connected, and inclusive communities where people can thrive and live well for longer.

THE ROLE

As the Director of Adult Social Care, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of adult social care across Wiltshire. You will lead a complex, high-impact portfolio covering statutory adult care services, housing operations, safeguarding, transformation programmes and health system integration, all with a clear focus on improving independence, wellbeing, and resilience for our residents.

Working at the heart of the council’s leadership team, you’ll influence major policy decisions, support corporate strategy and partner with colleagues across the organisation, the NHS, and the voluntary and community sector. This is a role that requires bold leadership, compassionate values, and a drive to deliver change at scale.
