THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working as part of the Corporate Leadership Team, you will lead finance, audit, ICT, revenues & benefits and business change. 

As our Section 151 Officer, you will ensure robust financial management and governance, oversee an extensive capital programme. Your leadership will help us deliver on key priorities such as regeneration, improved customer experience, and local government reorganisation. 

This is a great opportunity to join us at a time of change and transformation at the council. So we are seeking forward thinking, innovative and politically astute candidates with excellent leadership skills, who can work at a strategic level as well as develop what is already a strong finance team. As the Section 151 Officer, you will need considerable senior finance experience in a local government setting. 

Prospective candidates will be CCAB qualified or equivalent and willing to undertake NPPV3/SC Vetting as the postholder is responsible for incident command.
