Senior Head of Technology

Motor Neurone Disease Association
Hybrid (frequent travel to London)
£89,000 per annum on a full-time permanent basis
Hackney

The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by MND, now and in the future. We fund research, improve care and provide support for people with MND, their families and carers. As a membership organisation with more than 12,000 members and 13,000 volunteers, we have a powerful national and local network united behind our vision for a world free of MND. People with MND, their families and carers are at the heart of everything we do.

This is a time of real opportunity. With growing awareness and investment in research, we are hopeful of meaningful progress towards new treatment options, bringing hope, choice and greater control to our community.

Following a period of rapid growth, we are now focused on building on our success, strengthening our foundations, extending our reach and increasing our impact. Our new strategy reflects this ambition: bold, forward-looking and unapologetic in its pursuit of excellence.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Head of Technology to play a pivotal leadership role in delivering our organisational ambition, acting as a strategic partner to the Executive Team and leading the development and delivery of a forward-looking technology strategy across digital, data and IT. This senior position will ensure our platforms, systems and architecture are modern, secure and scalable, enabling greater organisational impact through improved services, insight and ways of working. The role requires a proven leader of high-performing, multidisciplinary technology teams, capable of shaping long-term vision while driving excellent delivery, translating complex technical concepts into clear, engaging plans that inspire colleagues across the organisation.

We have a non-hierarchical culture; the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of what motivates staff and volunteers and an appreciation of the sensitive, emotionally complex environment in which we operate. This is a purpose-driven role where technology is central to innovation, growth and support for people affected by MND, offering the opportunity to lead with clarity, ambition and meaningful impact.
