THE ROLE

The Head of Family Support and Child Protection will lead and manage services that safeguard and support Brent’s most vulnerable children and young people. This includes overseeing the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, family support, and child protection/court teams, ensuring children are protected and receive timely, effective services. The role involves strategic planning, policy leadership, and service improvement, working closely with senior leaders, elected members, and multi-agency partners.

Reporting to the Director of Early Help and Social Care, you will be a qualified and experienced social work professional with a strong track record of leadership in children’s services, particularly in safeguarding and child protection. You will demonstrate deep knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice, and have experience delivering services in diverse communities under high pressure. You will be an inclusive and collaborative leader, skilled in partnership working, performance management, and strategic planning, bringing a strong track record of delivering customer focused services and service improvements.
