Interim Safeguarding Director (Adult Social Care)

Starfish Search are working with a local authority in the South to recruit an Interim Safeguarding Director (Adult Social Care). The focus of this role is to lead the development and implementation of the council’s approach to the safeguarding of adults. Working across functions to ensure the highest quality of practice, and leading the operational delivery of safeguarding and quality assurance services.

THE ROLE

You Will:

  • Be responsible for ensuring the quality of practice for both the workforce and service providers, coordinating appropriate training to focus on continuous improvement
  • Drive wider quality assurance and best practice initiatives both internally and externally, ensuring a strengths-based approach
  • Conduct operational planning and performance reviews to maintain exceptional service delivery, in a financially sustainable manor
  • Build effective relationships with partners in the statutory, private and voluntary sector
  • Use professional expertise to translate goals and plans into ways of working that comply with relevant legislation and statutory requirements

You Will Have:

  • Be a safeguarding expert with a strong experience of working at Director level.
  • A relentless commitment to the protection and safeguarding of adults
  • Experience of creating and proactively leading change initiatives in a complex environment.
  • Proven track record of using professional expertise to deliver strategic objectives and expected outcomes, while managing conflicting priorities.
  • Strong project management and commercial experience
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work

 

This role reports into the Director of Adult Social Care – Operations. It is a hybrid role with an expected 1/2 days per week in the office, running for a period of 6 – 8 months. Candidates will be considered on either a full or part time basis.
