Interim Head of Performance, Improvement and Partnerships

Starfish Search are working with a Local Authority in South England to recruit an Interim Head of Performance, Improvement and Partnerships, within the children and families department. The focus of this role is to effectively manage the performance, improvement and partnerships management and information governance functions within the department.

THE ROLE

You Will:

  • Be the first point of contact for children services policy, strategic planning and performance management advice to the senior leadership team, consulting with other key stakeholders across the Council and external partners
  • Lead on a continuous improvement strategy to challenge and influence the department’s improvement intentions, including on planning and delivery of key external assessments such as Ofsted inspections, peer reviews, statutory returns, and other priorities as they arise.
  • Lead on information governance, ensuring that the department meets its statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Support the effective partnership framework including development and delivery of the Children and Young People’s Plan

 

You Will Have:

  • In depth knowledge of national legislative and policy agenda for Children’s Services, including education, regulation of children social care and Children and Families Act 2014 SEN and Disabilities elements
  • Senior management experience of performance and / or strategy functions, providing advice to senior management and other stakeholders and customers within a large complex organisation
  • Successful experience of managing significant projects and programmes
  • Evidence of working successfully in partnership with external organisations and stakeholders at all levels

 

This role reports into the Assistant Director, Strategy, Commissioning and Transformation. It is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week in office.
