GambleAware is an independent, grant-making charity commissioning prevention and treatment services across England, Scotland and Wales in partnership with expert organisations and agencies, including the NHS, across three areas, commissioning the National Gambling Treatment Service, producing public health campaigns on a national scale and providing practical support to local services and commissioning research and evaluation to improve knowledge of what works in prevention.

The Role

The Chief Communications Officer role Officer will lead and drive the development and delivery of GambleAware’s communications and engagement strategy.  You will ensure widespread understanding of, and confidence in, the charity’s role as a commissioner of research and prevention services to keep people safe from gambling harms throughout Great Britain.

This a significant, new senior leadership team appointment in an expanding team. You will be sharing responsibility for the organisation’s overall performance and development and contributing to the setting of overall strategy and objectives.  You will be experienced in increasing organisational profile through appropriate communication channels; building thought leadership and promoting impact stories arising from organisational activity; and developing and promoting improved relations with stakeholder groups through a variety of communication and engagement activities.

You will be recognised for strong role model and performance culture leadership as well as exceptional influencing skills, agility of thinking and a collaborative approach.
