Engage Britain has been set up to bring together people from across the country to find ways forward on the biggest challenges we face; challenges that affect everyone. We know that things like access to health and care services, how we recover from the effects of Covid-19 and ensuring opportunities for families living in poverty are hugely important, and that issues like immigration may split opinions.
The Role
This is an exciting time for our organisation, as we plan over the next five-to-ten-year period. We have been building up a formidable team and have already made appointments in key areas including communications, digital, projects and operations. We are now looking for an exceptional Programme Director to join us and be responsible for setting up and running Engage Britain’s second major project, focusing on providing opportunities to people living in poverty. The role also oversees our work with our network of grassroots leaders who are running a host of inspiring community initiatives across the country. You will support this network as it co-creates initiatives that give a voice to their communities.
We’re looking for someone with a strong track record of developing initiatives involving the public and practitioners within the charitable sector, local or national government, think tanks or consultancy. You will already have demonstrated your ability to be part of a leadership team and will ideally have experience of working within another maturing organisation. Crucially, you will be passionate about Engage Britain’s goal of demonstrating a new approach, putting people at the heart of policy making.
Engage Britain will bring people together to share their views, knowledge and experiences, and find answers to these challenges. But we won’t stop there. We’ll then work with people – communities, citizens, practitioners, politicians – to make these ideas happen. Ultimately, our ambition is to make Britain work better for us all.
We are a flexible employer and welcome applications from candidates who might want to work flexibly. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who are based across the UK, as you will be able to work remotely.
