THE ROLE

EMCCA is on an exciting journey and we would need someone for this role to match our aspirations – we need this individual to be more innovative, more ambitious and more driven to make this far more than your standard Monitoring Officer role.

This is a strategic role. At EMCCA you will set the direction and develop of our devolution approach for the benefit of our residents. The role will lead on Governance, Legal and Information Governance, with the postholder reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Mayor and other senior officers to provide advice, guidance and direction and deliver effective governance arrangements and compliance with legislation.

You will be driving compliance in a new organisation which will allow you to help build the best services from the bottom up.  You will be building legal services that need to drive multiple areas of decision-making and support fascinating and ambitious programmes and projects.

You will be an individual with determination to enable EMCCA to deliver for our residents, which leading on innovative solutions and versed in making change happen through good, open decision making.

We are seeking an exceptional candidate with the communication skills, leadership experience and sound judgement to work successfully with colleagues and partners to ensure good governance and robust decision making.  You will have the appropriate legal qualifications and Combined Authority and Local Government knowledge with experience of systems leadership.
