At Alzheimer’s Society, we’re the UK’s leading dementia charity and the only one to tackle all aspects of dementia by giving help and hope to people living with dementia today and in the future. We give vital support to people facing the most frightening times of their lives, while also funding groundbreaking research and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.

Nearly one million people are living with dementia, the vast majority still face delayed diagnosis, fragmented care, unequal access to support and a system that leaves individuals and families to cope alone. We have to turn growing political attention and scientific progress into practical, lasting change in people’s lives.

Alzheimer’s Society is uniquely placed to lead that change. We combine deep expertise, national reach, trusted relationships and powerful insight from people affected by dementia. Our ambition is not simply to provide excellent support today, but to shape a more coherent, accessible and sustainable system for the future – working with health and social care, commissioners, funders, government, communities and the voluntary sector to extend our reach and impact.

THE ROLE

This is a role for a visible, compassionate and ambitious leader who can stay close to the experiences of people affected by dementia and the teams who support them, while also looking outward and ahead. You will inspire a large, established directorate to build on what it already does well, creating a culture of curiosity, confidence and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who can mobilise people behind a shared ambition, encourage thoughtful experimentation and translate bold ideas into practical improvements for people affected by dementia. If you bring the strategic judgement to balance quality, equity and mission impact with growth, innovation and sustainability – and the confidence to mobilise others behind a shared ambition- we would be delighted to hear from you.
