Kensington and Chelsea is home to residents from all over the globe. Our communities value this diversity and are proud of living in a part of London known around the world for its vibrant cultural heritage and proud history. The borough is unique, a home to thousands and a destination to millions, and we are proud of the quality of our greenspaces, high streets, parks and public spaces.
We are investing in improvements across the borough to build on these strengths, promote biodiversity, and deliver on our net zero commitments. We place our planning and regulatory services at the heart of developing and ensuring an exceptionally high-quality built environment, supporting iconic places and amazing spaces – like Portobello Road, Exhibition Road, Knightsbridge, Earls Court and the Kings Road.
The Grenfell tragedy in 2017 continues to be a focus for the council and our communities. We are determined to ensure it is never forgotten and to learn from what happened to become the best possible Council for all our residents, building a meaningful legacy from the tragedy. We are seeking an Executive Director who will listen to, learn from, residents and co-design services to help us become a council that is greener, safer and fairer.
