Corporate Director, Finance

London Borough of Lambeth
circa £160,000
Hackney

As part of our ongoing commitment to financial governance and our 2030 plan Lambeth are seeking to appoint a Corporate Director of Finance. Lambeth is a borough with social and climate justice at its heart. By harnessing the power and pride of our people and partnerships, we want to tackle inequalities so that children and young people can have the best start in life, and everyone can feel safe and thrive. Our residents, vibrant business community and passionate voluntary sector come together to make Lambeth a very special part of London.

THE ROLE

A future where all our communities thrive requires a radical new approach. We must use our resource and capacity to drive change and we must be bold, innovative and pioneering. We are seeking an outward looking Corporate Director of Finance with the confidence to bring together diverse ideas and bold plans to deliver for our communities. A leader who embodies our values, and who will ensure we use our resources to tackle deep-rooted inequalities and build a stronger borough.

This is an excellent opportunity for a visionary Corporate Director of Finance looking to lead Lambeth’s entire finance division.  In this role you will provide high quality professional advice on all matters related to the financial functions of the council whilst also providing strategic leadership and direction to finance and procurement services. The Corporate Director of Finance will undertake the statutory duties of the Section 151 Officer as defined in the Local Government Act 1972.

This is not just a role; it’s an opportunity to be at the forefront of driving change, fostering a culture of ambition, and embedding our values of equity, inclusion, and collaboration across our services and communities.
