Interim Head of Environmental Action

Starfish Search are working with a charity to recruit an Interim Head of Environmental Action. The focus of this role is to lead on the delivery and ongoing development of their environment plan, helping them achieve their goals of becoming a world class environmental funder and improving environmental impact in the voluntary sector.
THE ROLE
You Will:
- Develop a practical path to net zero, identifying what actions they need to take over the next 6 years to achieve agreed targets with particular focus on facilities management, work related travel and supply chain
- Act in an advisory capacity to help put the environment at the heart of their funding and operations
- Work with their Environmental Officer to strengthen links with Climate Action Network and engage wider staff in taking action and driving environmental improvements in work and home life
- Lead in the development and implementation of regular reporting, updating sub-committees with quarterly submissions and the Senior Management as necessary
You Will Have:
- Extensive expertise in the field of sustainability and environmental impact with up-to-date knowledge of policy and practice developments
- A track record of transitioning organisations to achieve net zero
- Experience of working with teams to ensure sustainable practice is prioritised across departments
- The ability to engage with external stakeholders and provide thought leadership
This role is running for a period of 3 – 6 months. It is offered on a day-rate basis inside IR35, with expected rates between £500 – £600/day.
