Interim Director of Regeneration and Place Development

Starfish Search are working with a local authority in London to recruit an Interim Director of Regeneration and Place Development. The role will form part of the newly-established Place team working closely with key Housing colleagues to deliver high impact and key priority programmes.
THE ROLE
You will
- Provide strategic leadership and direction across the service large scale estate regeneration, delivery of the council’s Home Programme and other major regeneration projects.
- Act as the Council’s expert on regeneration and development.
- Work closely with service departments and other partners to ensure that the Council has a joined-up approach to the wider Place Shaping objectives for the Borough.
- Oversee major procurement processes to secure development partners and ensure arrangements are in place more generally to ensure contracts and procured to ensure value for money and they deliver the required quality
- Provide strategic and motivational leadership of staff, providing a visible presence to the workforce
You will have
- Extensive experience in regeneration and development and ability to ensure all programmes of work focus on the wider vision for Place.
- Led on sizeable Affordable Housing Schemes.
- The ability to oversee all programmes of work and team’s focus on the wider vision for Place.
- A track record in developing effective partnerships between the Council, partners, local communities, stakeholders, development partners and contractors to achieve the Council’s wider regeneration and development objectives.
This role is running initially for a period of 6 months. It is a hybrid role with 2 to 3 days required on site.
