Starfish Search is assisting a Local Authority in the Midlands with the recruitment of an Interim Deputy Monitoring Officer for a period of approximately four months, while the permanent position is filled. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal (Monitoring Officer) and play a key role in supporting the Monitoring Officer to ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations.

This position is vital in maintaining ethical standards, supporting democratic processes, and promoting effective governance. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a strong background in local government and legal services. Experience in contract law and place-based projects would be highly advantageous.
