Interim Assistant Director – Regeneration and Economic Development

Starfish Search are working with a local authority in London to recruit an Interim Assistant Director of Regeneration and Economic Development. This role will be responsible for the leadership, coordination and delivery of strategic regeneration, place making and economic development within the council.
THE ROLE
You will:
- Lead strategic regeneration plans, making sure employment and opportunity is available for all and supporting the growth of local businesses and town centres.
- Work collaboratively with the Mayor and member portfolio holders to plan the strategy and approach to the delivery of services, including reporting on service performance.
- Drive forward a range of initiatives and projects that stimulate inclusive regeneration and economic growth, working with a range of organisations at local, regional, national, and international level.
- Develop and lead a governance model and programme management approach to track and monitor the delivery of strategic regeneration and economic growth across Council services and across the borough
You will have:
- Significant leadership experience in regeneration and economic development and delivery.
- The ability to deliver complex multi disciplinary programmes within tolerances of time, cost and quality.
- Highly developed negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and, the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with elected Members.
- Commercial awareness, knowledge and experience of the site development process, asset management, property development, and related legislation.
