Interim Assistant Director Operations – Adult Social Care

Starfish Search are working with a local authority in London to recruit an Interim Assistant Director of Social Care Operations within the Adults & Older People’s Services. The role will contribute to the delivery of the authority’s corporate plan, developing and transforming existing pathways with strength-based practice and a focus on outcomes and delivering value for money.
THE ROLE
You will:
- Play a crucial role in the planning, developing, commissioning and provision of services in partnership with other agencies and organisations, budgetary and workforce planning and management.
- Develop and implement the Council’s strategy and lead transformational change to achieve better outcomes for borough residents.
- Provide leadership and management of staff within ASC, to ensure performance management arrangements are in place to translate strategic aims into operational practice.
- Deputise for the Adult Social Care Director as required, carrying out corporate responsibilities on their behalf.
You must have:
- Proven track record of planning, commissioning and managing services for Adults and Older People at a senior level in Adult Social Care, the Health Service or the independent Sector.
- Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills and the capacity to build effective partnerships with Health, the independent, voluntary and community sector, elected Members and colleagues.
- Experience of successfully managing service change and significant improvements in service delivery
- A degree in Social Work or Occupational Therapy
