Like the National Forest that grows at the heart of the district, our work is rooted in the lives of the people we serve. We are proud to support and encourage our communities and businesses so that they are as healthy and prosperous as they can be. All across our district there are positive things to shout about, and the location of the East Midlands Airport and the Freeport in the borough are key drivers for growth.

THE ROLE

We also know how important it is for us to be a well-run and efficient council, where our staff can develop and grow and where our decision-making is clear and rigorous, and we are currently seeking a new senior officer who will play a vital role in our future success.    Our Head of Legal and Support Services will manage 27 staff, covering legal and democratic services as well as data protection and communications.  As Monitoring Officer, the role will put you at the heart of the political process and we are therefore seeking an experienced and resilient local government legal expert with the ability to find solutions and offer clear and robust advice to officers and members.

The role will report directly to the Chief Executive and provides a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the biggest and highest performing districts in the region.
