Head of PFI

Bradford Council
£82,500
Hackney

Bradford is a city of ambition with the wind in its sails following a hugely successful year as UK City of Culture. From a cultural urban centre, to sweeping landscapes and stunning heritage towns, Bradford has something for everyone across its 141 square miles. The district has a fast growing and dynamic workforce, a high proportion of self-employment and new business start-ups and a growing population. This is an exciting time to join a district with its eyes on the future.

THE ROLE

Bradford Council is looking for a strategic leader to take on one of its most significant commercial portfolios. The education PFI estate spans ten schools across two contracts with a lifetime capital value of circa £1.6 billion and annual expenditure of approximately £45 million, providing daily education for around 10,000 students.

As Head of PFI, you will lead the council team responsible for contract and commercial management of these partnerships, setting the long-term direction for the service and ensuring the council is well prepared for the next chapter beyond existing PFI arrangements. You will lead major commercial negotiations, oversee high-profile contractual relationships and provide strategic leadership on investment, risk, governance and performance.

This is an opportunity to build your own team and leave a lasting mark on Bradford, playing a defining role in providing the right environment for children to learn and protecting some of the council’s most important public assets.
