Hackney is a place of energy, creativity and opportunity. As we continue our ambitious regeneration and economic growth agenda, we are seeking a new Assistant Director of Regeneration and Economic Development to lead our borough’s placemaking, town centre revitalisation and inclusive growth priorities.

THE ROLE

In this highly visible role, you’ll lead area regeneration programmes, the Woodberry Down regeneration programme, economic development, and support and shape town centres, ensuring that growth benefits all of Hackney’s communities. With a broad remit that spans capital delivery, business support and economic and regeneration strategy and delivery, you will act as a lead for Hackney’s economy, working with partners across the public and private sectors to attract investment and shape sustainable growth.

We are looking for a forward-thinking leader who brings a track record of delivering major regeneration and economic development programmes. You will combine strong strategic thinking with political sensitivity, financial fluency and the ability to build consensus across diverse interests. Whether it’s enabling local entrepreneurship, shaping high streets of the future, or unlocking development potential, your work will leave a legacy across Hackney’s town centres and neighbourhoods.
