The Role
As our new DPH you will thrive on the opportunity to work as part of the economy, investment, and public health directorate and the impact this can have on the wider determinants of health. Reporting to the Chief Executive, and with a dotted line to the Executive Director, Economy, Investment and Public Health, you will be a member of the corporate leadership team of the Council. Your portfolio will extend far beyond your statutory public health responsibilities, to cover our traveller unit, trading standards and strengthening communities.
We believe that our innovative approach will give us all the best possible chance to collectively tackle the longstanding health issues that exist in some of our more deprived communities. It also means that the role requires someone who fully understands – and can utilise – the fundamental links between the economy, jobs, skills and public health and will relish the chance to work in a different way.
