Durham Constabulary is seeking an exceptional Assistant Chief Officer (Finance) to join the Force Executive team. Long recognised as one of the top performing forces in the UK, the Constabulary prides itself on doing things differently and doing them well. The force is focused on modernising how it works, with a clear programme of investment across estates, technology and business services.
As a member of the Force Executive, reporting to the Deputy Chief Constable, you will hold the statutory S151 responsibility for the Chief Constable, leading Finance, Estates and Business Administration Services. You will provide strategic financial leadership, advice and assurance to the Chief Constable and senior leadership team, driving efficiency, innovation and best practice across the Constabulary’s enabling services.
This is a role for someone from a strong finance background who also has the appetite to lead broader organisational change. The force is rethinking how its enabling services are structured and brought together, with a focus on modernising ways of working and joining systems up so they work more effectively for the organisation.
A CCAB qualification and significant senior financial management experience are essential. This role is politically restricted and subject to police vetting.
