Assistant Director for Schools and Learning

London Borough of Haringey
London
Up to £120,000
Hackney

Haringey offers the very best of London: diversity, heritage, culture and opportunity. These are exciting times for the borough – we have a new administration, and a new Chief Executive, and are hugely ambitious for our children and young people.

The Role

Our relationships and partnerships with schools, and with the Haringey Education Partnership are critical, and we are united in our desire to achieve exceptional standards of education for every child and young person.   Whilst an impressive percentage of our schools are good and outstanding, we want to innovate and challenge the status quo. Our new Assistant Director will thrive in an environment where high support and challenge is welcomed and where new ideas and best practice can be shared directly with schools as well as the Haringey Education Partnership.

School improvement and attainment underpins this role but you will also be accountable for a wide range of functions including school place planning, free school meals and alternative provision as well as the interface with early help.

Your ability to provide high level support and advice to headteachers may well come from a school leadership or local authority background but you will be equally comfortable in the role of commissioner, ensuring that the Haringey Education Partnership’s offer is second to none.

Reporting to Ann Graham, our highly regarded DCS, you will enjoy working in a mutually supportive yet fast-paced system and bring a relentless passion for ensuring Haringey’s children and young people thrive in their education settings.
