Ashfield is thriving. We are proud of our district and determined to provide the best possible services and opportunities for our communities, and to help achieve our ambitions we have attracted over £70m of government funding to Ashfield via the Towns Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. These unprecedented levels of funding will help us deliver jobs and further education opportunities, long-term economic and productivity growth, new homes, improved transport infrastructure, reduced carbon and new cultural and visitor facilities.
As part of a new strategic direction, we have also recently reconfigured our senior structures and have created a new post of Executive Director for Place. This post will lead three Assistant Directors and will oversee planning, regeneration, economic growth, regulation, health and wellbeing (including leisure and community safety), and strategic housing. Of course, a primary focus of the role will be to deliver the many exciting regeneration projects we have in the pipeline; indeed, there has never been a better time to join Ashfield and help us achieve great things for our communities.
We are therefore seeking experienced and determined candidates with a proven track record in place shaping, planning, growth or regeneration, and the ability to offer strategic leadership as well as develop excellent partnerships. You will also be a skilled political operator, able to work closely with Members to deliver their ambitious programme of renewal.
