Interim Director of Culture

Starfish Search are working with a local authority in London to recruit an Interim Director of Culture. The focus of the role is to provide strategic direction, corporate leadership and advice, on all matters relating to culture. Ensure that statutory requirements are met and that accelerated and sustained improvements in performance against Council targets are achieved.
THE ROLE
You will have oversight over the following services:
- The new insourced Leisure Services, pre and post transfer from current provider
- Sport & Physical Activity
- Parks and Open Spaces
- Events and Arts
- Cultural Capital Delivery
You Will Have:
- Substantial experience, evidenced by a solid track record of success, leading high-quality services within local government
- Experience of engaging effectively with others at a senior and strategic level while building sustainable productive partnerships with key stakeholders
- Experience of successfully leading and embedding financially affordably sustainable change
- Deep understanding of the external commercial and political environment
This role is expected to run for a period of 6 months and reports into the Corporate Director of Communities
