Interim Head of Communications

Starfish Search are working with a local authority in London to secure them an Interim Head of Communications. The role will be accountable for the continuous development and delivery of the Council’s Communications Strategy.

THE ROLE

You Will:

  • Promote the vision and values of the Council, set the narrative over important issues and protect its reputation.
  • Ensure residents, businesses and other stakeholders are informed of Council services, policies and decision-making, the opportunities available to them, and how to engage.
  • Support Council colleagues and Members to communicate effectively, both embedding cross-directorate standards and enabling creativity.
  • Deliver corporate objectives through planning and implementation of the Council’s communications strategy and annual work programme

 

You Will Have:

  • Significant experience of corporate communications leadership in a local authority or organisation of comparable scope and complexity.
  • A demonstrable understanding and record of implementing the professional standards required in modern government.
  • A track record of developing your people with a clear view of the training and development needs of a team.
  • Experience of establishing strong partnerships internally and with a range of external stakeholders.

 

This role is running for a duration of approximately 4 months.
