Interim Corporate Director of Resources (S151)

Starfish Search is supporting a London Borough to appoint an Interim Corporate Director of Resources (Section 151 Officer) to provide strategic leadership across corporate services, ensuring strong financial stewardship, effective governance, and the delivery of high-quality support services across the council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic and operational delivery of the Resources Directorate, including Finance, Procurement, Audit, IT, Customer Services, Revenues & Benefits, HR, Payroll and Business Support
- Fulfil the statutory responsibilities of the Section 151 Officer, ensuring robust financial governance, compliance and transparency
- Drive organisational transformation, service improvement and digital change across corporate services
- Provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive, Members and senior stakeholders, supporting effective corporate decision-making
About You:
- Executive or Corporate Director-level experience within a Local Authority
- Qualified finance professional (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Significant experience as, or operating at the level of, a Section 151 Officer
- Strong track record of leading large corporate service portfolios and delivering financial and organisational transformation
- An influential and collaborative leader with excellent political awareness and stakeholder management skills
