Interim Executive Director of Environment

Starfish Search is supporting a London borough in the appointment of an Interim Executive Director of Environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a broad portfolio of frontline and place-based services.
- Oversee key services including highways, waste, parks, leisure, and customer services.
- Ensure effective delivery of major projects, transformation programmes and capital investment
- Drive service performance, budget management and continuous improvement
- Provide leadership, support and challenge to senior managers across the directorate
- Maintain service stability while delivering council priorities
About You:
- Executive Director or equivalent leadership experience within local government
- Strong understanding of public realm, environmental and community services
- Experience working within a political environment and advising elected members
- Proven track record of leading large service portfolios and budgets
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Calm, collaborative leadership style with the ability to provide stability and direction
